ACTIVE SINGLES

Active Singles is a group for all faiths. You do not have to be a member of our church to attend.  Most are ages 20s through 50s.  Free child care is available by reservation when we meet at the church.  For more info, call: Katy Mayeaux 797-3145 or the church office 424-7771.

Some of us also meet on Fridays for lunch at 11:30 AM at a local restaurant AND on Friday nights for dinner and a movie.  Call Katy for info on Friday lunch & supper places chosen on a weekly basis.

Tuesday, April 24th - 6:00 PM - Volleyball in FUMC gym.  Eat together after at McAlister's Deli, 1671 E 70th.


Monday, April 30th - 6:00 PM - Dinner & Games for Singles Age 50+ (or for anyone who wants to come, there is really no age requirement).  Hunter Building, room 201 upstairs.  To eat the dinner, Katy needs RSVP in advance and $7 paid at the door, but no cost or RSVP to just come play games.  We will play cards, dominoes, board games, pool, ping pong... AND, those who wish to can paint a ceramic bowl for Food Bank fundraiser!  Design and create your own beautiful piece which will be sent to the kiln to be glazed and fired. (Usual donation is $5 per bowl).  If you don't want to paint, just come visit, eat, and play games.
 

Tuesday, May 1st - 6:00 PM - Active Singles Dinner/Game Night , Bowl Painting, & Officer Election
Meet in Hunter Building, room 201 (upstairs).  Church will supply free fried chicken.  If you can, bring a veggie dish or dessert to go with that.  'Doesn't have to be homemade - just pick something up at the store.  We'll play games AND we will paint bowls for Food Bank's fundraiser!  Ceramic bowls and special paints for them will be supplied to you.  Design and create your own beautiful piece which will be sent to the kiln to be glazed and fired. (Usual donation is $5 per bowl).  If you don't want to paint, just come visit, eat, and play games. In addition, we will elect officers for Active Singles group for the next 6 months (election only takes a few minutes).  If you would like to be a group officer, see Katy. 

 

Tuesday, May 8th - 6:00 PM - Another Dinner & Game Night with Bowl Painting (Details as on May 1st).  Again, the church will supply meat, and you are asked to bring a side dish or dessert if possible.


Tuesday, May 15th - 6:00 PM - Volleyball in FUMC gym.  Supper together afterward at Newk's on Youree.


Tuesday, May 22nd - Picnic in Mike Wood Park! (2200 Dennis St. in Bossier).  Meet as soon after work as you can make it (I'll be there by 5:30). Bring a lawn chair and a takeout supper for yourself.  Kids and pets are invited too!  Bring any outdoor toys you wish, such as a football or Frisbee.  If weather is iffy, call Katy or any officer at top of this schedule (or the church office) and ask about plan.  We might play volleyball at FUMC instead.


Tuesday, May 29th - 6:00 PM - Volleyball in FUMC gym.  Supper together afterward at Southfield Grill, 315 Southfield Rd. in Shreveport. (Turn right off Youree onto Southfield as you are heading south from the church.)
